Judaea under Roman Procurators
6 - 60 CE
Judaea was ruled by a series of Procurators appointed by Rome. They reported to the Governor of Syria. Some of the Procurators issued coins (bronze). The coins issued by the Procurators before 32 CE are called the WIDOWS MITE as described in the Bible.

Reverse : Amphora with scroll handles. Year 4 of Tiberius (17 CE)
Pontius Pilate
26-36 CE
Pontius Pilate ruled Judaea during the time of Jesus of Nazereth.
Jesus
was tried for treason before Pontius Pilate and sentenced to death by
crucifixion.
