Aspendus

Aspendos was situated 8 miles from the mouth of the Eurymedon river in ancient Pamphylia and it was an important port and naval base. It had preferred Persian rule, despite its Greek origins.  It resisted Alexander on his invasion of Asia Minor. It became a dominion of the Pergamene Kings from 189 to 133 BCE.
